Chemical Peels

LOCATIONS IN RANCHO CUCAMONGA, REDLANDS, AND HESPERIA, CA

Administered by a skin care professional, our full range of superficial peels can help your complexion appear more uniform and renewed—diminishing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and roughness. Our chemical peels provide a fast and effective solution for skin rejuvenation.

HOW CHEMICAL PEELS IMPROVE THE SKIN

Chemical peeling is a procedure that uses chemical substances to accelerate skin exfoliation, resulting in renewed, healthier-looking skin and a more uniform complexion. A chemical peel gently removes the top layers of skin to deliver a smoother, more radiant appearance. It can address skin concerns such as sun damage, hyperpigmentation, scars, uneven skin tone, wrinkles, and fine lines.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM OUR SKINMEDICA® PEELS?

SkinMedica® Peels address the visible skin imperfections that result from skin aging and sun exposure, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone and texture. Peels also address skin tone unevenness that can be caused by acne scarring or pigmentary changes. SkinMedica® offers a range of different-strength chemical peels that licensed medical professionals can select to provide the optimum treatment for their patients.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A CHEMICAL PEEL

If you’re looking to combat the signs of aging, fade dark spots and hyperpigmentation, even out skin tone, reduce pore size, brighten up your complexion, or address textural concerns, you’re likely a candidate. During a consultation, you can discuss questions and concerns regarding chemical peels and determine which peel is best for your skin and aesthetic goals.

On average, our chemical peels take about 30 minutes to complete. However, the duration may vary depending on the specific type of peel that is best suited for you

CHEMICAL PEEL AFTERCARE & RECOVERY

Patients generally do not experience pain during or immediately after their chemical peel treatment. However, there will be some increased sensitivity of the skin afterwards which can last for several days.

Chemical peels are a safe and effective skin-resurfacing treatment. After your consultation, our providers will help you determine if you are a candidate for treatment.

Chemical peel may cause temporary redness and irritation. However, the redness typically fades within a few hours or days. It is essential to follow aftercare instructions provided by a skincare professional to soothe and protect the skin after the peel.

There is a chance you will breakout post-chemical peel, as the process can trigger reactions that lead to breakouts. Breakouts vary in size, shape, and severity and can be a result of skin purging. Skin purging accelerates the skin’s natural shedding process, leading to the emergence of pre-existing impurities.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU GET A CHEMICAL PEEL?

How often you should get a chemical peel depends on the type of peel you are having done. For superficial or surface layer peels, you can repeat the treatment up to once a month. Deeper peels require additional healing time, and it is recommended to have them done only once every two to three years for optimal results and to allow the skin to fully recover.

CAN I GET A CHEMICAL PEEL IF I HAVE ACTIVE ACNE?

Yes, you can get a chemical peel if you have active acne. Chemical peels can safely and effectively help treat acne blemishes, including pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and cystic acne. Additionally, a chemical peel helps cystic acne by eliminating oils and dead skin cells trapped in the surface of your skin.

CAN I USE RETINOL AFTER A CHEMICAL PEEL?

After a chemical peel, your skin will become sensitive and undergo a peeling process. Once the peeling is complete and your skin has healed, you can start incorporating retinol into your skincare routine. Retinol should be used as directed by the product instructions or as advised by your dermatologist.
